At 7th Gen Creatives we tell our stories on our own terms. Rooted in the experiences, needs, and perspectives of marginalized communities, we create productions that celebrate our strength and resilience while naming the struggles against oppression and exclusion. Our projects emerge from the urgent questions within our communities, yet always look toward building lasting change. In this way, we claim space, honor our roots, and use imagination as an act of resistance and of shaping the future.
Naya Daur is a musical documentary that highlights 150 years of Hindustani history in Suriname and the Netherlands. Through music, dance, and lived experiences, the film shows how Hindustanis have fought for emancipation, identity, and social justice. The result is a collective tribute by and for the community, where voices from different generations come together.

In this photo exhibition and podcast series, creator Ebru Aydin takes you through fifteen personal stories of Muslims in the Netherlands who have undertaken the umrah (minor pilgrimage) or hajj. Through portraits and audio stories, their expectations, experiences, and the lasting impact of this spiritual journey are brought to life. For some, it is the fulfillment of a dream; for others, a moment of reflection or a search for deeper meaning. Together, the stories show how the pilgrimage is not only a religious tradition but also a source of inner strength, reflection, and connectionโwith faith, with oneself, and with the community. During the opening, the stories are further brought to life with recitations, conversations, and encounters.
